Trump demanded support from NATO allies on the Iran issue

United States President Donald Trump expressed his views on a number of important issues that have attracted the attention of the world community in an interview with the famous newspaper The Financial Times last Sunday. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He especially focused on the issues of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the future of the North Atlantic Alliance. According to the President, if the US allies do not support Washington in possible military operations related to Iran, the NATO system will enter one of the most difficult and dangerous periods in its history.
Trump called on European countries to take joint military measures against Iran and to send special ships designed for mine clearance to the region. He emphasized that the active participation of Europe and China is crucial because they are heavily dependent on oil coming from the Persian Gulf.
Currently, the armed forces of the US and Israel have been continuing air strikes on Iranian territory since the end of February. As a result, several high-ranking representatives of the Iranian leadership have been killed.
In response, Iran has not stopped directing its strikes at Israeli, Persian Gulf states, and US facilities. President Trump also warned that if China does not contribute to ensuring free navigation in the strait, the planned meeting with Chinese state leader Xi Jinping at the end of March may be postponed.
According to him, Europe and China are even more dependent on sources of oil supply than the US. The price of oil on international markets reached one hundred and six dollars per barrel last night, which means this indicator has increased by twenty-five percent since the war between the US and Israel with Iran began.
Trump said the war could end whenever he wants, but for now, there is no interest in negotiations, and attention is being focused on weakening Iran's military potential. These events could have major consequences for the regional situation, global peace, and geopolitical balance in the near future.
