Israel Launched a Major Ground Military Operation in Southern Lebanon

The Israeli armed forces officially announced the launch of a major ground military operation in southern Lebanon. Zamin.uz reported on this.
Reports of intense fighting around the city of Khiam indicate a further escalation of the situation in the region. The Israeli army stated that it is targeting strategically important positions of the Hezbollah organization with the aim of expanding forward defense zones in areas close to the border.
International media sources, including Al Jazeera, are providing additional information about these events. According to statements by Israeli officials, the current operation is primarily aimed at destroying enemy infrastructure facilities, weapons depots, and armed fighters.
Local media reported that on Monday, several powerful air strikes were carried out on the city of Khiam, as well as attacks on Yater, Burj Qalaviya, Sultaniya, Chaqra, Qantara, and as-Savaneh. Although exact figures on the number of casualties resulting from some of these strikes have not yet been announced, the situation remains as dangerous as ever.
The city of Khiam holds a geographically very important position. Due to its location at high altitude near the Israeli border and the Litani River, this area is considered one of the most important strategic points in the region.
Its location on road connections linking various parts of southern Lebanon and on the main routes leading to the Bekaa Valley, controlled by Hezbollah forces, further increases its military value. The recent escalation has led to evacuation orders for civilians from several areas in southern Lebanon and Beirut.
As a result, more than 800,000 people, including many women and children, were forced to leave their homes. According to available data, Israel's attacks in Lebanon have so far caused the deaths of at least 850 people.
The presence of 107 children and 66 women among the victims highlights the severity of this humanitarian tragedy. The population is enduring great hardships to survive.
