Trump Warned Iran, Tehran Responded

US President Donald Trump has given a 48-hour deadline regarding the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz in relation to Iran. Zamin.uz reported this.
He warned that if the blockade continues, the US may strike major energy facilities. In a social media post on the morning of March 22, Trump emphasized that if cargo transport through this vital waterway is not safely and fully restored, Washington will take action against Iran's power plants, particularly the largest ones.
Iran responded swiftly to this warning. According to the operational commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, if Iran's oil and energy infrastructure is attacked, allied regional facilities in the US sectors of energy, information technology, and water purification will also be targeted.
These latest exchanges of statements are taking place against the backdrop of large-scale military conflicts between the US, Israel, and Iran. According to sources, since the war began, the Strait of Hormuz has been almost completely blocked.
This is negatively impacting a route that accounts for approximately 20 percent of global oil and liquefied natural gas supplies. Attacks on oil facilities and tankers in the Persian Gulf have led to rising global energy prices.
Economic concerns are also increasing. According to calculations by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, if the blockade continues until the end of June, the annual growth rate of the global economy could drop by 2.9 percent in the second quarter.
Analysts have also stated that if the strait remains closed for three quarters of the year, there is a possibility that oil prices could rise to $132 per barrel by the end of the year.
