Hungary is preparing to stop gas supplies to Ukraine

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán made an important announcement in recent days. Zamin.uz reported on this.
According to him, until transit through the Druzhba oil pipeline to Budapest is fully restored, gas supplies to Ukraine will be gradually suspended. This decision is not merely a trade issue but a serious measure taken by Hungary to strengthen its own energy security and preserve domestic reserves.
As the Prime Minister emphasized, under current conditions, Hungary is forced to prioritize its people's needs. This news signifies the beginning of a new and sharp phase in relations between the two neighboring states.
Amid rising political tensions, negotiations between Hungary and Ukraine are also becoming more difficult. Viktor Orbán recently acknowledged suspicions that Ukrainian intelligence services may have tapped the phone of Hungary's Foreign Minister.
It was announced that an official investigation has been launched by the Hungarian side regarding this incident. These events are eroding political trust and further complicating the situation in the region.
At the same time, Hungary is being forced to reassess its position within the European Union. Reports have circulated that Brussels leadership, due to concerns about possible leaks of confidential information to Moscow, may exclude Budapest from certain important and secret negotiations.
This situation is negatively affecting Hungary's standing in the European community. Recent events are bringing increased pressure on Hungary's foreign policy.
Sooner or later, the country will redefine its energy and political strategy.
