118-year-old Oldest Person Found in Brazil

The world's oldest person was accidentally discovered at a nursing home in Brazil. Zamin.uz reported on this.
This 118-year-old is Luis Carlos dos Santos. He moves bravely and independently despite his age.
Drinking coffee several times a day has become his favorite habit. The RankBrasil organization carefully verified his documents and confirmed his age.
Luis Carlos dos Santos was born on February 15, 1908, in the city of Eloi-Mendes, Minas Gerais state, Brazil. He spent most of his life farming and living a simple rural life.
Luis never married or had children. Since September 10, 1971, he has been living in a nursing home.
A priest from Tres-Pontas brought him there. For over half a century, Luis has become a symbolic figure for the institution's staff and residents.
His age was confirmed through an updated birth certificate, work record book, and personal medical documents. After verifying the documents, RankBrasil began the process of officially recognizing him as the world's oldest living person.
This title previously belonged to 116-year-old Ethel Kateham from Great Britain. Despite being one hundred and eighteen years old, Luis walks independently, eats on his own, and does not take medication regularly.
He follows a strict daily routine, drinks coffee three times a day, and consumes everything in small quantities. He has also not given up the habit of smoking hand-rolled cigarettes.
According to staff at the institution, he prefers peace and solitude and does not ask others for help. Luis spends much of his time in the yard, where a stone path he paves every day only to break again has become a unique symbol of his daily life.
Although his life is simple, he remains a remarkable example who has left his mark in human history.
