Strong fire and explosions occurred at an oil refinery in Australia

A major industrial incident occurred in the city of Geelong, Australia. Zamin.uz reported on this.
The ABC television channel reported that a powerful fire broke out at one of the oil refineries in the region on the night leading up to April 16. According to reports, the incident took place at a plant belonging to Viva Energy.
Currently, official authorities are assessing the incident as an accident. Official Chris Bowen noted that initial investigations have found no evidence of arson or other suspicious circumstances.
According to fire safety services personnel, the blaze started in a special section where gasoline is stored. It is suspected that fuel leaks in this area caused several explosions, which led to the rapid spread of the fire.
The fire has now been fully extinguished, but experts indicate that its consequences could be serious. In particular, there is a possibility that gasoline production volumes will decrease due to partial restrictions on plant operations.
As a precaution, the company management decided to temporarily reduce the production of diesel fuel and aviation kerosene. Experts emphasize that technical inspections must be completed for the plant to return to full capacity.
