Hundreds of seals have died on the coast of the Caspian Sea

Another ecological tragedy has been observed on the coast of the Caspian Sea. In the Tupkaragan district of Mangistau region, the bodies of 191 dead seals were found. This event has caused serious concern among residents of the region and specialists in the field of ecology.
Details of the incident were reported by regional news sources. According to official information, preliminary assumptions link the death of the animals to the strong winds observed in recent days. In the opinion of specialists, as a result of strong winds from a north-western direction, the seals may have ended up on the shore and perished, unable to adapt to the natural conditions.
The head of the fishery inspection of Mangistau region, Konarbai Bozorboev, commented on this situation. He stressed that the exact causes of the incident are still being fully studied and all details are being checked. At present, large-scale inspection work is being carried out by the responsible organisations.
Employees of the ecology department have taken samples of water and soil from the area and have begun to analyse possible changes in the environment. Scientists from the Institute of Hydrobiology and Ecology have also been involved in the research. The scientists are studying the internal organs and other biological samples of the seals in laboratory conditions in order to determine the exact causes of death.
Experts emphasised that such cases of mass death may not be limited only to weather factors. Pollution of the water, disruptions in the food chain or various diseases may also be among the main causes.
At the moment, no final conclusion has been issued about the exact causes of the incident. The results of inspections and the conclusions of the expert examination are expected in the coming days.
