Kazakhstan imposes a six-month ban on the import of chicken eggs

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan has introduced a temporary restriction on the import of fresh chicken eggs into the country. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Under this decision, a six-month ban is being applied to imports. This was reported by the Zakon.kz information portal. The order issued by the ministry states that the decision was adopted on the basis of the document "On the prohibition of the import of fresh chicken eggs into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan".
According to it, the import of fresh eggs by all types of transport from foreign countries and from the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union is temporarily suspended. However, an exception has been made for transit transportation. That is, the transfer of egg products between Eurasian Economic Union states via the territory of Kazakhstan is not included in the restriction.
This decision came into force on April 21 and will remain in effect for six months. According to experts, egg prices in Kazakhstan fluctuate throughout the year, and due to reduced demand, consumers turn more often to vegetables and fruits instead of eggs. In the autumn, producers are forced to raise prices in order to compensate for summer losses.
The restrictions introduced by the ministry are aimed at supporting domestic producers and ensuring stable egg prices. It is expected that this measure will serve to supply the population with cheap and high-quality products, as well as to develop the country's agricultural sector.
