Supreme Leader of Iran Seriously Injured in Israeli Attack

Reports are emerging that Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was severely injured in an airstrike on his residence in Tehran on February 28 of this year. According to available information, the attack was carried out by Israeli military forces, further escalating the political tension in the Middle East.
The New York Times, citing high-ranking Iranian sources, reports that Mojtaba Khamenei suffered serious facial burns, which have negatively affected his ability to speak clearly. Consequently, he is expected to undergo complex plastic surgery in the coming days.
Furthermore, he has undergone at least three surgeries on his leg since late February. Although doctors are taking all necessary measures to stabilize his condition, it is reported that he may require a prosthetic limb in the future.
It was also revealed that he recently underwent another medical procedure on his arm. Despite this, sources confirm that the Supreme Leader remains conscious and maintains control over the general situation in the country.
However, he has delegated the authority for certain key strategic decisions to military leaders and generals, indicating a temporary internal redistribution of duties within the government. Notably, Mojtaba Khamenei has so far declined to make any public audio or video appearances.
Experts interpret this as a desire to avoid appearing weak or frail to the public and the international community. Since taking office on March 8, he has primarily issued written statements released through state media.
Representatives of the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that it would take some time before the Supreme Leader appears in public. Meanwhile, skepticism has been voiced internationally, with Donald Trump expressing doubts about whether the Iranian leader is still alive.
It is worth noting that Mojtaba Khamenei succeeded his father, Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed in the same attack on February 28.
