Iranian Public Decisively Rejects Proposal to Limit Missile Program

Public opinion research results in Iran have revealed that the country's population holds very firm views regarding external pressures and potential agreement terms. According to the surveys, a number of key conditions proposed by the international community were resolutely rejected by the general public.
This situation demonstrates unity within the country's internal political environment concerning the protection of national interests. Specifically, one of the most discussed issues was the proposal to limit Iran's missile program.
85.7% of survey participants expressed their absolute disapproval of this initiative. Such a high figure clearly demonstrates that the population prioritizes national security and defense capabilities over any political agreement.
The missile potential is viewed by the Iranian people as a guarantee of state sovereignty. Similarly, the proposal to completely halt the uranium enrichment process in exchange for ending the war or easing sanctions was received negatively by the public.
79.4% of respondents considered such a condition unacceptable. This reaffirms that the nuclear program and scientific progress hold not only energy-related but also strategic importance for Iran.
Another crucial point pertains to the free passage of international vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. Although easing control in this area was suggested as a condition for ending the war, 73.7% of participants did not support it.
Consequently, control over this waterway is valued by the population as a significant geopolitical advantage and a means of regional influence. Furthermore, the demand to abandon the activities of the 'Axis of Resistance,' which represents Iran's cooperation with regional allies, was also rejected.
68.1% of respondents opposed this proposal, indicating a high level of public support for the country's foreign policy direction and regional military alliances. Overall, the results of this study indicate that the Iranian population is uncompromising regarding conditions imposed under external political pressure.
The people want the government to maintain a firm stance on issues of national interest, defense potential, and regional status. Such social sentiments will inevitably have a serious impact on the process of future international negotiations.
