Quokkas officially banned from entering restaurants on Australian island

The entry of rare animals known as quokkas into public dining establishments located on the famous Australian island of Rottnest has been officially banned. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This decision was made not only to maintain order in the area but also to protect the health of these creatures themselves. It is reported that although restaurant administrations have installed warning signs and notices in several languages for tourists, in practice not everyone follows these rules.
Both guests and animals continue to circumvent the established restrictions. Quokkas have gained worldwide fame thanks to their endearing appearance with a permanent smile-like expression.
Because they are not afraid of people and have grown accustomed to begging for food from tourists, they often wander directly inside restaurants. Specialists particularly emphasize that this situation not only causes disorder in dining establishments but also poses a serious threat to the lives of the animals.
Experienced specialists in the field warn that food consumed by humans is extremely harmful to quokkas. Salty, sweet, or processed foods from people's diets can seriously and negatively affect the delicate organisms of these animals and may even cause their death.
For this reason, the island administration is asking tourists not to feed the animals and to strictly follow the rules established for their safety. Such measures are considered an important step towards preserving the balance of nature and saving rare animal species.
