Lands for livestock will be allocated for Uzbek investors in Irkutsk

In Russia's Irkutsk Region, agricultural land plots intended for raising large cattle are expected to be allocated for Uzbek investors. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This initiative was announced during a briefing aimed at strengthening interregional cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan. The event was attended by the Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Irkutsk Region, Viktor Sishkovskiy, who dwelled on the prospects of bilateral relations.
Currently, the issue of allocating land for the development of livestock breeding is being actively discussed in the territory of the region. According to the plan, products grown on these lands will be exported not only to the Russian domestic market, but also to Uzbekistan.
Uzbek entrepreneurs are showing great interest in investing in and implementing these projects. Within the framework of cooperation, a special agreement has been signed with the Andijan Region, in which a road map with specific tasks and deadlines for execution has been approved.
According to the document, the priority directions were defined as establishing a Trade House of Uzbekistan in the Irkutsk Region, as well as constructing a large fruit and vegetable logistics center. This step will serve to increase the volume of goods exchange between the two countries.
Today, the Irkutsk Region mainly supplies Uzbekistan with wooden products, aluminum, and modern information technology solutions. In turn, fruits and vegetables, various equipment, household utensils and packaging materials are exported to this region from our republic.
Such mutually beneficial trade relations open new opportunities in the agricultural sector. Previously, an agreement was reached with Uzbekistan on the long-term lease of four thousand hectares of cultivated land. On these lands, the establishment of large cattle-breeding farms is also planned.
