The population of Afghanistan has increased by eight hundred thousand in one year.

According to the National Statistics and Information Authority of Afghanistan, the country's population has been updated based on regular monitoring, as reported by Zamin.uz.
The report includes key data on population growth rates, gender composition, and regional distribution. The analysis shows that Afghanistan's population has significantly increased, reaching a total of 37.2 million people.
Compared to last year's figures, the population has grown by approximately 800,000 people, or 2.2 percent, over the past year. This growth rate reflects ongoing demographic processes in the region.
Regarding gender distribution, men make up 51 percent of the total population, while women account for 49 percent. This indicates a relatively stable gender balance in the country.
The population's settlement pattern also has distinctive features. According to the report, about 70 percent of the population—nearly 26 million people—lives in rural areas.
Urban residents number 9.8 million, accounting for 26 percent of the total population.
Additionally, around 4 percent of the population, or approximately 1.5 million people, continue to maintain a traditional nomadic lifestyle.
When examining regional distribution, Kabul remains the most densely populated area in the country.
Currently, 6.4 million people reside in Kabul. The second most populous region is Herat Province, with 2.4 million inhabitants.
These statistical data serve as an important foundation for the country's socio-economic planning and the study of population needs.
