Kyolnda Large WWII Aerial Bomb Found

In the Johannes-Gisberts Garden in the German city of Cologne, a large aviation bomb from the period of the Second World War was discovered. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This 500-kilogram bomb was identified during recent special search and inspection operations. Initially, specialists had placed 150 suspicious points in the area under observation.
Later, after conducting analyses, it was determined that most of these points were safe, and the number of locations requiring inspection was reduced to 14. The hazardous device was found exactly at one of these points.
Due to this situation, the city administration promptly implemented safety measures. A special safety zone with a radius of 500 meters was marked around the location where the bomb was found.
As a result, approximately 4,300 residents living in this area were temporarily relocated to safe locations. Additionally, the children's hospital located near the garden was completely evacuated.
The 43 child patients undergoing treatment in the hospital were transported to other medical facilities using special transport vehicles. The evacuation process was not limited to residential areas alone.
The children's playground in the area, the Lentpark swimming pool, and the botanical garden were also forced to temporarily suspend their activities. While specialists worked to neutralize the bomb, movement in several central streets of Cologne came to a complete standstill.
In particular, traffic was restricted on roads leading to bridges. Changes also occurred in the public transport system, with one tram line and three bus routes temporarily suspended.
Currently, specialists are taking measures to eliminate the danger.
