Official reports have emerged regarding a strike on Ben-Gurion airport in the Israeli capital by Houthi militants affiliated with the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen using a hypersonic ballistic missile. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to sources, the Houthis used a new missile called "Palestine-2" in this attack. This missile was specifically developed for support operations in Gaza in 2024.
As a result of the attack, the missile reached its target accurately, temporarily halting operations at Ben-Gurion airport. This incident indicates an escalation of regional issues and security threats in the Middle East.
The Israel Defense Forces stated in their statement that several missiles launched from Yemeni territory were successfully intercepted. Additionally, air raid sirens were reported to have sounded during the night along the Dead Sea and the western bank of the Jordan River.
Currently, amid the war between Israel and HAMAS, the Houthis have carried out several attacks using drones and missiles. They regard this action as a symbol of solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.
At the end of June, the Houthis also targeted the Israeli city of Beer-Sheva with a missile. Following these attacks, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stern warning to Yemen, promising "Tehran's fate."
Experts believe that the Houthis' use of hypersonic missiles further exacerbates security issues in the region, indicating that military confrontations in the Middle East have escalated to a new level. The developments, security situations, and issues of stability in the region remain in the public eye.
