BMW company unveiled the new generation X5 crossover in pictures

The German BMW concern has officially unveiled the fifth generation of its popular X5 crossover, one of its best-selling models. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This updated model marks one of the most significant transformations in the vehicle’s history, as it not only adopted a completely new design philosophy but also became the first in its lineup to offer a fully electric variant. The new BMW X5, created in the Neue Klasse style that signals the brand’s future direction, differs technologically from its predecessors to a considerable extent.
The exterior design echoes that of the previously introduced iX3 model. At the front, compact LED optics and new-style X-shaped daytime running lights draw attention.
Notably, drivers can change the daytime running lights to yellow—a tribute to classic BMW M models. Additionally, traditional door handles have been replaced with flush-mounted metal elements and buttons integrated into the body panels.
These changes give the vehicle a modern and sleek appearance. The interior has also undergone a major overhaul, showcasing a true technological revolution.
At the center is a massive 17.9-inch display, while a panoramic screen occupies the lower part of the windshield. The artificial intelligence assistant not only controls vehicle functions but is also capable of answering a wide range of driver queries.
In the cabin, natural stone, glass elements, and high-quality metals have been used, lending the interior a distinctive sense of luxury. One of the most notable changes is the removal of the two-part tailgate on the X5 model.
Engineers say this was done to improve aerodynamics and meet customer expectations. The new crossover has grown in length by 5.5 centimeters, though its weight has also increased significantly.
In particular, the fully electric iX5 version weighs nearly 2,900 kilograms. The new BMW X5 is built on an updated platform and supports five different types of power units.
The engine range spans from mild-hybrid turbo systems with 400 horsepower to high-performance models delivering up to 612 horsepower. Additionally, a hydrogen-powered variant is expected to debut in 2028.
The highlight of the presentation was the electric iX5 model, which features a large-capacity battery. Thanks to new technologies, the vehicle can travel up to 845 kilometers on a single charge.
A special system allows the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes—a very high figure for electric vehicles.
