Ferrari Introduces Manual Transmission Supercar After 14-Year Hiatus

Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has prepared an unexpected gift for its most passionate enthusiasts, Zamin.uz reports.
The Maranello brand has finally unveiled a new model with a manual transmission — the 12Cilindri Manuale — after a 14-year hiatus. This has been one of the most frequently requested features in recent years.
The news has been widely covered in international media. The new model is Ferrari’s first four-seater since the California model.
Moreover, it has entered history as the first supercar since the legendary 599 GTB to combine a twelve-cylinder engine with a manual gearbox. According to reports, this special edition will be produced in a limited run of 1,499 units, with a price tag of approximately 590,000 euros.
Ferrari engineers did not simply reinstall a classic manual gearbox. The new model features an innovative electronic control system.
This means that the clutch and gear pedals are not directly mechanically linked to the transmission. In fact, the car is equipped with an eight-speed robotic gearbox, but a special system fully replicates the driver’s movements.
The uniqueness of this system lies in the fact that the position of the clutch pedal determines the engagement level of the discs in the gearbox, giving the driver the ability to control the 819-horsepower engine just like in a classic car.
Even if the driver makes a mistake, the car can stall, which brings the driving sensations as close to reality as possible. While the system emulates real mechanics, Ferrari engineers have not forgotten about safety.
For example, if the driver accidentally selects a low gear at high speed, the electronics will not execute the command to avoid damaging the engine. According to project leaders, this system was created to return the authentic driving pleasure to the driver.
Another convenient feature is that this model can also be driven in fully automatic mode, which is especially helpful in urban traffic jams.
Ferrari’s leadership describes this model not only as a high-performance vehicle but also as a source of unparalleled emotions. In the Uzbek automotive market, Ferrari models are highly valued among collectors and automobile enthusiasts.
The new model, with its limited production and price, is expected to become one of the rarest modern supercars in the world.
