The level of crime in Uzbekistan has significantly decreased
From April 15 to May 15, 2025, a large-scale preventive event called "Safe and Healthy Country" was held in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Upl.uz.

This event was carried out by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with other ministries and organizations throughout the republic. The main goal was to ensure the safety of citizens, reduce the level of crime, and monitor compliance with traffic rules.

During the event, special groups consisting of representatives from ten different services operated in the regions during nighttime. As a result of their effective work, cases of hooliganism in streets and public places decreased by 25.6 percent.

During the month, more than 17,000 individuals carrying dangerous cutting tools were identified. Special attention was focused on searching for individuals evading court and investigation.

Law enforcement agencies detained over 100 individuals who were wanted. Additionally, more than 10,000 people were held accountable for petty hooliganism.

The preventive measures yielded positive results. The level of crime prevention decreased by 36 percent.

Violations committed by youth and minors decreased by 20 percent. This demonstrates the effectiveness of cooperation between law enforcement agencies and other services.

A significant portion of the event was dedicated to monitoring compliance with traffic rules. During the month, law enforcement officials recorded over 590,000 violations.

Of these, more than 3,000 involved driving a vehicle while intoxicated, over 1,900 were cases of non-compliance with the legal demands of law enforcement officers, and more than 700 involved the illegal installation of sirens and emergency signals. Additionally, over 48,000 drivers were found to be operating vehicles without the necessary documents, and more than 67,000 vehicles were placed in the impound lot.

Starting from 2023, video cameras equipped with the function of identifying vehicle license plates are being widely implemented in Uzbekistan. This has allowed for a 15 percent increase in the detection of traffic rule violations compared to previous years.

These measures are making a significant contribution to enhancing the level of safety in our country.
