Kyrgyz qari Muhammadali Umarov won first place in a global competition. Zamin.uz reported on this.
The contest took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and held international significance. More than ten thousand applications were received from various corners of the world to participate in the competition.
Of these, two thousand participants passed the preliminary stage and advanced to the main competition arena. In the final round, only 64 leading qaris demonstrated their knowledge.
The competition lasted eight days and required each participant to have memorized the entire Holy Quran and strictly adhere to tajweed rules. According to the competition results, Muhammadali qari Umarov, representing Kyrgyzstan, secured first place.
Following him, representatives from the USA, Egypt, Syria, and Sweden took second, third, fourth, and fifth places, respectively. The winner was awarded a cash prize of 50,000 Saudi riyals.
Qari Muhammadali attributed his success to the prayers and support of his homeland's people, emphasizing that this victory belongs to the entire nation. He expressed gratitude to the Creator for granting him the opportunity to reach first place on the world stage.
It is worth noting that Muhammadali qari Umarov is currently a fourth-year student at the Quran Faculty of Madina Islamic University. This is not his first world victory.
Previously, in September 2022, he also secured first place in another competition held in Mecca with the participation of representatives from 111 countries. At that time, he was awarded a prize of 250,000 riyals.
The achievements of the Kyrgyz qari once again confirmed his high standing in the Islamic world and served as a great example for young people.
