It is expected that the speed recorded by the radars will be reduced by 10 km/h
The government of Uzbekistan has decided to increase the speed limit that will be deducted from the radar-recorded speed from 5 km/h to 10 km/h. The Cabinet of Ministers has submitted the draft law on this matter to the parliament.

Despite the fact that the Legislative Chamber has just received this draft law and it has not yet been reviewed, it announced that "the recorded speed will now be reduced by 10 km/h".

"The draft law stipulates that administrative penalties will be applied based on the errors of radar and speedometer readings related to speed violations, with the recorded speed being reduced by 10 km/h," the chamber's information stated.

If this law is adopted and comes into effect, drivers in areas where the speed limit is 60 km/h will be fined starting from 70 km/h instead of the current 65 km/h.

It was previously reported that Deputy Prime Minister Ochilboy Ramatov had instructed to implement such a change last July.

It should be noted that in Uzbekistan, starting from 2023, the maximum speed for light vehicles in urban areas was reduced from 70 km/h to 60 km/h. After this change, traffic accidents in areas with installed cameras have significantly decreased.

Every year, more than 2,200 people become victims of traffic accidents in Uzbekistan. Thousands more are left disabled due to car accidents.
