Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated in Kyrgyzstan on March 20.

It has been announced that the Eid al-Fitr holiday in the Kyrgyz Republic will be celebrated next year, specifically on March 20, 2026, during the final days of March. Zamin.uz reported on this matter.
This important announcement was made by the Kyrgyzstan Muslim Board through its official sources. In determining the holiday date, the country's religious leaders based their decision on a general fatwa adopted at a meeting of muftis from member states of the Organization of Turkic States, rather than making separate individual decisions.
The composition of this fatwa committee includes full member states of the organization, such as Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Additionally, representatives from the official Muslim religious bodies of countries that joined as observers, such as Turkmenistan and Hungary, also participated.
This religious cooperation and the adoption of a unified decision among these countries serve as a clear example of mutual understanding. It is worth noting that at the beginning of February, a meeting of the Fatwa Committee under the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Bodies of the Organization of Turkic States was held in the city of Samarkand.
During this important consultative meeting, it was determined based on preliminary calculations that the first day of Ramadan in 2026 would fall on February 19, Thursday, and the Eid al-Fitr holiday would coincide with March 20, Friday. The meeting held in Samarkand was organized under the leadership and initiative of the Uzbekistan Muslim Board, with participation from leaders of religious bodies of all member states of the organization and renowned Islamic scholars.
The main objective of this meeting was to strengthen unity among Muslims by celebrating religious holidays on the same dates across different countries and to ensure harmony in religious views. As a result, the holiday dates for next year were clearly confirmed and established as common for all relevant states.
