The introduction of a unified state exam is planned in Uzbekistan. This was reported by Upl.uz.
This system will combine the final exams for school graduates, entrance exams to higher education institutions, and subject tests for obtaining certificates. This initiative was proposed recently at a meeting held under the president.
Currently, graduates are required to take several different exams, which causes them excessive burden and administrative difficulties. Unifying the exams into a single system will simplify the process, save time, and help reduce the financial expenses of families.
The idea of introducing a unified exam system is not being discussed for the first time in Uzbekistan. In April 2020, a proposal was made to conduct a single test consisting of compulsory subjects and elective subjects for faculty admission.
In July 2022, the issue of combining the final school certification with higher education entrance exams starting from the 2024/2025 academic year was raised again. These changes aim to create a more effective and fair assessment system in the education sector.
