On April 5 in Tashkent city, a Malibu driver moving at high speed dragged a traffic police officer on the hood. A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. This was reported by the Traffic Safety Department.
The incident occurred at the intersection of Nukus and A. Qahhor streets in the Mirabad district. The driver was moving at high speed in a Malibu-2 model vehicle, which had its state registration plates removed, and was equipped with a special antenna and a "siren." He endangered his own life and the lives of others.
Moreover, he continued to move several times without obeying the stop signals of the traffic police officers. Although the driver saw the junior sergeant approaching, he did not stop and pushed him with his car. After that, he dragged him along Nukus street on the hood.
The traffic police officer received first aid from doctors for the injuries sustained.
The citizen who was driving the vehicle stated that he was unemployed and had rented the vehicle. "I acted foolishly, I thought [the traffic police officer] would fall off the hood," said the driver.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Mirabad district prosecutor's office under Article 219 of the Criminal Code (resisting a representative of authority or a person fulfilling civic duty). Currently, preliminary investigative actions are being conducted. All drivers are requested to comply with the established rules
