Starting from March 20, the use of the Temu platform will be restricted in Uzbekistan
According to the requirements of Uzbekistan's legislation, starting from March 20, the use of the Temu platform will be restricted in the established manner. This was reported by the press service of the Tax Committee.
It was noted that only legal entities — residents of Uzbekistan can operate as electronic commerce operators, specifically as operators of electronic trading platforms.
“During the process of studying the activities of foreign electronic trading platforms serving the citizens of our country, it was found that some electronic trading platforms are not complying with the legal requirements of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the fields of electronic commerce, retail trade, advertising, personal data protection, consumer rights protection, copyright, and related rights.
Based on the above, in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, starting from March 20, 2025, the use of foreign electronic trading platforms, specifically the Temu platform, will be restricted in the established manner,” the statement said.
To prevent misunderstandings, the Committee requested that no orders be placed on the Temu platform starting today.
“If an order has been placed before this, it is recommended to arrange for a refund on the platform,” the statement added.
The National Projects Agency and the Tax Committee urged citizens not to use the services of foreign electronic trading platforms that have not localized their activities in Uzbekistan or are not included in the list of foreign companies and marketplaces providing electronic services by the Tax Committee, to take precautions, and not to provide personal and other information to such entities.
