The report about an asteroid falling in Khorezm has been denied: what is the real reason for the incident?
A video has circulated on social media suggesting that an object falling from the sky onto a house in the Bog‘ot district of Khorezm region may have been caused by an asteroid. The video clearly shows that a loud bang was heard before the incident, resulting in the roof of the house's entrance, namely the hallway, collapsing and being damaged. However, the Khorezm region's Emergency Situations Department officially denied these reports. According to the department's information, the incident occurred on May 12 at 3:39 AM in the Yuksalish neighborhood of Bog‘ot district. It was reported that approximately 10 square meters of the roof in the hallway of the house collapsed, and the Internal Affairs Department and the special laboratory services of the Emergency Situations Department promptly arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. As a result of the investigation, no traces of space objects or explosive materials were found at the scene. Additionally, it was determined that there were two propane gas cylinders in the household. Furthermore, preliminary investigation conclusions suggest that the explosion may have occurred due to gas leaking and accumulating from the propane gas cylinder in the house. According to the information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a special expertise has been appointed to determine the exact causes of the incident. A ministry representative emphasized that, depending on the type of explosion, gas may have leaked and accumulated in the room, and the ceiling could have been torn upwards as a result of the explosion. It was reported that there were no injuries or casualties as the homeowners were sleeping outside at the time of the incident. Thus, officials and experts emphasize that this situation is not related to an asteroid or other space objects, but rather there is a likelihood that safety requirements regarding the gas cylinder in the house were not followed. This situation serves as a reminder to the public to exercise maximum caution when using gas appliances and to strictly adhere to safety regulations.

The number of Uzbek tourists traveling to the UAE has sharply increased: the Emirates is becoming one of the most favorite destinations for Uzbeks
In the first three months of 2025, the number of Uzbek citizens traveling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for tourism purposes significantly increased. According to the National Statistics Committee, 44,800 Uzbeks visited the UAE in January-March of this year. This figure shows an increase of 6,300 people or 16.2 percent compared to the same period last year. This indicates that the Emirates is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination for Uzbeks. The reasons for Uzbek tourists traveling to the UAE vary, with the majority, namely 39,172 individuals, traveling for leisure and relaxation. Additionally, 5,024 citizens visited to see their relatives, while 363 people traveled for business purposes. At the same time, the number of Uzbeks who traveled to the UAE for medical treatment was 167, and the number of students who went for education was 70. Experts believe that the UAE's quality service system, convenient and modern infrastructure, as well as the expansion of air connections with Uzbekistan have positively influenced the increase in tourist flows. Analysts emphasize that if this trend continues, the number of Uzbek tourists visiting the UAE may further increase in the coming years. It is also noted that there are great opportunities for further development of tourism cooperation between the two countries.

How are fraudsters siphoning money from bank cards?
How are fraudsters siphoning money from bank cards?
Nowadays, thieves do not come to you and pickpocket, but rather they are eyeing the money in your account. In this video, we will explain the most commonly used method by scammers to "hack" into your phone - malicious APK files, ways to protect yourself from them, and what to do if you fall victim to fraud. This type of fraud, aimed at theft, mainly deceives older individuals who are not familiar with the various file formats that come to their phones. Unfortunately, such cases are not decreasing. The most common type of this fraud involves sending a file resembling a malicious APK format application to the victim's smartphone. Through this, control over SMS messages and applications linked to plastic cards on their phone is seized, allowing the scammers to transfer money to their own account. In this video, we will explain the methods that scammers use to "hack" into your phone, ways to protect yourself from them, and what to do if you fall victim to fraud. So, how can we protect ourselves from the tricks of scammers? First of all, it is essential not to open such suspicious files; If you have already opened and installed the application, you should immediately delete the application and your Telegram account (if necessary). Because there is a high probability that a virus file has been automatically sent from your account to others; Next, contact the person who sent you such a file via a phone call and inform them; Most importantly, go into the settings of payment applications (Payme, Click, Paynet, or other bank applications) and remove any unknown devices from the devices section; Don't forget to change the phone number linked to your plastic card; this can be done through ATMs. If the money on your card is being withdrawn one after another and you don't know what to do in an emergency: first, call the bank of your plastic card and have your card blocked. This will freeze the scammers' actions. After that, you can proceed with the measures mentioned above. Another important reminder is that this type of fraud does not only come in the form of APK files but can also appear as suspicious links. For example, it may be a website designed to look like an official site, and its URL will be very close to the original. If you accidentally enter it to make a payment, the scammers will gain "access" to your bank card through an SMS code. The safest and simplest way: do not open any suspicious applications or links sent to you. Only install applications from official stores (Play Market, Galaxy, or Mi Store). Take care of yourself and your money!

A new law regulating online activities has been developed in Uzbekistan
A new law regulating online activities has been developed in Uzbekistan
A new draft law has been developed in Uzbekistan to protect the rights of internet users and ensure safety and transparency on online platforms. This document aims not only to guarantee citizens' right to information but also to fill the legal gaps in the modern digital environment. The draft law has been developed in collaboration with state and public organizations, media professionals, legal experts, and representatives of the IT sector. What is the law about? The document is titled "On the Protection of the Rights of Users of Online Platforms and Websites." According to it, users will have the rights to access information, express their opinions freely, and use the internet safely. Additionally, the scattered and inadequately defined norms in legislation regarding information disseminated through online platforms and websites will be fully systematized. Key principles The draft law is based on the following priority principles: Legality — online activities must be conducted within the framework of existing laws; Priority of user rights — the right to access information, express opinions, and ensure safety is guaranteed; Environment free from censorship — freedom is ensured in content not prohibited by law; Transparency and security — measures against the dissemination of illegal information and protection of personal data are ensured. Not complete blocking — gradual measures If online platforms do not cooperate systematically with the authorized body, access speed to them in Uzbekistan may only be reduced based on a court decision. This marks a departure from the practice of harsh blocking in internet activities. Steps against bloggers, anonymous profiles, and cybercrimes The project revisits some heavy and difficult-to-implement norms introduced for bloggers in existing legislation. It also includes effective solutions against anonymous profiles, channels, and groups, as well as legal mechanisms against modern cyber threats — phishing and spam. Abandonment of penalties and sanctions No financial sanctions or fines will be imposed on platforms that fail to comply with the obligations set forth in the draft law. That is, even if the law is not followed, initial measures will be communication, explanation, and actions based on legal procedures. MMTs are excluded The draft law will not apply to websites registered as media. Their activities will be regulated by the law "On Mass Media." The number of internet users is sharply increasing The number of internet users, which was 14.7 million in 2017, reached 32.7 million by 2025. The most popular platforms are: - Telegram — 28 million - Odnoklassniki — 19.2 million - Facebook — 2.3 million - VKontakte — 1.5 million - LinkedIn — 850 thousand - Twitter — 250 thousand The editorial team of Zamin.uz believes that the protection of the rights and freedoms of internet users will be strengthened through the new draft law, ensuring justice and security in the online environment. Stay tuned for updates!
