The video claimed that illegal inspections were being conducted on citizens and difficulties were being caused to passengers at the “Oybek” border customs post located in Bekobod district on the border with Tajikistan. According to the customs department, the number of citizens and vehicles crossing the border significantly increases in the days before the holiday. In recent days, more than 5,000 people and over 500 passenger cars have been crossing the “Oybek” post daily. To prevent congestion and ensure a fast and convenient border crossing, more than 20 customs officers are serving at the post in an enhanced mode. One of the main tasks of the customs authorities is to ensure security. Unfortunately, some individuals try to use the increased flow to smuggle illegal drugs, ammunition, or other prohibited goods. For example, recently, 53.8 kilograms of hashish were found in the gas cylinder and fuel tank of a car. Therefore, an in-depth customs inspection at the post is considered necessary. It was also emphasized that no conflicts or official complaints from citizens were recorded at the post during the holiday days. This indicates the high quality of service provided by the customs officers. Overall, the “Oybek” border customs post is operating orderly and effectively even during the holiday days.

Internal Affairs Uses Drones to Detect Crimes
Internal Affairs Uses Drones to Detect Crimes
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan has started using drones to monitor offenses and provide rapid response. This was reported by Upl.uz. This innovation was first introduced in the Bukhara region, marking a new stage in the modernization of the country's law enforcement system. According to the President's directive, the Bukhara regional administration purchased 150 modern drones. According to Rahimjon Naimov, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Crime Prevention Service, these drones are currently being systematically distributed. Already, 84 departments in five regions have been equipped with new technologies, and there are plans to expand the drone fleet. The modernization program is planned for several years. By the end of 2026, all district and city internal affairs departments across the country will be fully equipped with drones. This will significantly improve work efficiency, especially in areas with high crime rates. The main task of the drones is to conduct preventive work and detect various offenses. They are used to identify minor disturbances, monitor environmental conditions, and detect crimes related to the illegal circulation of narcotics. Drones observe large areas from above, enabling rapid response by personnel on the ground. Additionally, operating drones requires special qualifications. As Rahimjon Naimov emphasized, not every employee is permitted to fly drones. Senior prevention inspectors are being trained step by step. Currently, specialists in the Bukhara and Fergana regions who have been trained and certified will have the right to operate drones. A special system has been established for training and improving specialists' qualifications. In some countries around the world, law enforcement agencies equip drones with high-resolution cameras, thermal detection devices, speakers for delivering voice messages, and systems for delivering first aid supplies to hard-to-reach places. These innovations serve to enhance efficiency in the law enforcement sector.

Discussion of new customs at the bride greeting ceremony
Discussion of new customs at the bride greeting ceremony
An unusual interpretation of the traditional wedding ceremony called "bride greeting" is actively being discussed on social media. This was reported by Upl.uz. Previously, the bride showed respect by bowing her head when greeting her husband's relatives, but now in some weddings, she is kneeling down and kissing the feet of her husband and mother-in-law. This new custom is causing various debates among the wider public. Many consider this practice a departure from Uzbek traditions. Uzbek traditions have always been based on respect, without allowing humiliation. Such actions are interpreted as a symbol of submission, raising concerns among advocates of equality within the family. Although the bride should be an equal member of the new family, the current ceremony seems to force her into complete submission. Interestingly, some social media users emphasize that this custom is inspired by Japanese traditions. In Japan, a deep bow signifies a high level of respect. The "bride greeting" means sincerely greeting the husband's relatives with a bow. This is an integral part of Uzbekistan's wedding ceremonies that have developed over centuries. It is important to preserve and continue this tradition with respect.

During this visit, a number of strategic agreements aimed at modernizing our country's healthcare system were reached. As an important outcome, an agreement was signed to train 20 Uzbek specialists annually free of charge at leading Korean clinics that meet international standards. During the visit, ministry representatives closely acquainted themselves with the advanced experience of South Korean medicine. Special attention was paid to the activities of the Bundang Clinic of Seoul National University. This institution has 2,300 beds and receives approximately 8,500 patients daily. The clinic is equipped with modern laboratories, a telemedicine center, 3D training halls, and virtual simulators for developing complex surgical skills. The parties outlined specific steps to develop cooperation in high-tech fields such as robotic surgery, oncology, telemedicine, and digital medicine. Additionally, they agreed to collaborate not only in training doctors but also nurses and engineers specializing in the repair of complex medical equipment. This serves to create a comprehensive system that enables the effective introduction of advanced technologies in Uzbekistan. The delegation did not limit itself to visiting clinics but also participated in an international conference held at Kyungpook National University. There, prospects for joint educational programs for training mid-level medical personnel were discussed. Productive meetings were also held with the leadership of Changwon National University, the Asantek scientific group, and SD-biosensor, a manufacturer of rapid diagnostic devices. Uzbek representatives also familiarized themselves with the activities of the Inje University Clinic and the Faculty of Biotechnology at Yonsei University. One of the most significant events was a meeting with the president of the South Korean International Health Foundation, during which the agreement to train 20 specialists annually free of charge was finalized. This agreement lays a solid foundation for improving the qualifications of Uzbek medical specialists and introducing modern medical practices in our country. The Korean side expressed readiness to expand cooperation programs in the healthcare sector for 2026–2028. This cooperation is expected to provide new impetus for the development of medical education, experience exchange, and the introduction of innovative technologies into the healthcare system. Collaboration in robotic surgery will enable performing the most complex operations with minimal intervention. The surgeon controls small instruments using a special console, ensuring high precision unattainable by human hands, significantly reducing the patient's recovery time. Investigation of border incident started in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan
Investigation of border incident started in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan
The authorities of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have started a joint investigation into the death of two Kyrgyz citizens in the inter-state border area. This was reported by Upl.uz. On Monday, the press service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan's border service announced this. The incidents occurred on August 15, and official information became known on August 25 after applications about the disappearance of two citizens were received by Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies. During a meeting held on August 28 between representatives of the two countries' border services, it was established that the incident took place precisely on August 15. According to the Uzbek side, two unknown individuals were found on Uzbek territory at the border post. This area is located at the junction of the borders of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. When border officers attempted to detain the unknown individuals, they did not comply with the lawful demand, which resulted in the use of firearms. As a result, both individuals died at the scene from gunshot wounds. On August 31, a procedure was conducted to identify the deceased. Relatives who had earlier reported the disappearance came to Uzbekistan and identified the bodies. On September 1, the bodies were handed over to Kyrgyzstan. This process was carried out at the "Baymak" checkpoint, after which the bodies were sent to the morphology department in the city of Kerben for forensic examination. Heads of the border agencies of the two republics have already held negotiations and agreed on the necessity of conducting a detailed joint investigation at the incident site. The Uzbek side also stated its readiness to hand over three horses and a yurt belonging to the deceased in the near future. Currently, a thorough and comprehensive investigation is underway regarding all aspects of the incident. Representatives of both countries have announced that the results of the investigation will be made public. The length of the state border between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan is 1,314 kilometers, making it the longest external border for Kyrgyzstan. The delimitation and demarcation process of this border was complex and prolonged due to population density, the complexity of ethnic composition, and the presence of several enclaves. The complete delimitation of the border was officially announced on January 27, 2023.

A strong earthquake occurred in Afghanistan, many casualties
A strong earthquake occurred in Afghanistan, many casualties
A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 struck the eastern provinces of Afghanistan. This was reported by Upl.uz. As a result of this natural disaster, many people died and significant material damage occurred. According to preliminary information from local authorities, at least 250 people have died, and approximately 500 citizens have sustained injuries of varying degrees. The earthquake's epicenter was located only 8 kilometers deep beneath the surface, approximately 200 kilometers from Kabul and 400 kilometers from Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. The shallow depth of the epicenter intensified the destructive impact of the earthquake. Following the main tremor, three aftershocks with magnitudes ranging from 4.5 to 5.2 were recorded. This caused additional panic among the population and increased the risk of collapse of already damaged buildings. Local authorities emphasize that the death toll is not yet final. Rescue and search operations are ongoing, but the process faces difficulties due to the complex terrain and lack of communication. Rescue teams are trying to reach the remote mountainous areas, but in some locations communication has been completely cut off. In the six eastern provinces most affected by the earthquake, houses are mainly made of mud, making them highly vulnerable to seismic activity. According to eyewitnesses, the earthquake was felt over a wide area and caught people by surprise. The authorities are mobilizing all available resources to provide assistance to the victims and evacuate the injured. However, due to the mountainous terrain and destroyed infrastructure, delivering humanitarian aid and medical services is proving to be very difficult. As information about clearing debris and isolated residents becomes available, the number of dead and injured may increase. The Hindu Kush mountain range is a region frequently affected by earthquakes and is geologically a young and evolving system. This area is one of the most seismically active zones in the world due to the collision of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.

Metro construction delayed in Tashkent, traffic congestion increases
Metro construction delayed in Tashkent, traffic congestion increases
With the start of the new academic year, the capital's transport system is facing a serious test. This was reported by Upl.uz. The circular above-ground metro line, closed due to planned repair works, has not resumed its operation until September 1. This situation may significantly worsen the traffic conditions in the city, as an increase in transport flow is traditionally expected from tomorrow. Repair works on the "30th Anniversary of Uzbekistan's Independence" line began gradually from the beginning of summer. Representatives of the Tashkent Metro State Unitary Enterprise announced that they are conducting planned maintenance activities, which are necessary to ensure safety and service quality in accordance with global experience. Initially, the repair period was set to a maximum of three months, but by the beginning of autumn, movement along the entire line has not been restored. Official statements from the metro administration have been very brief and unclear. They emphasized the necessity of maintenance, carried out to ensure the safety of stations and tunnels after a certain period of operation. However, the exact completion date of the repairs and details of the work being performed were not disclosed. The information gap was filled by photos on social networks showing completely dismantled sections of the track, revealing the extensive scope of the repair works. The issue that worried city residents the most was not only the delay in repairs but also the responsible organizations' avoidance of providing clear and consistent information. So far, no official explanations have been given regarding the exact date of resuming operation, the amount of funds spent, or the durability of the repairs. The lack of this information is causing concern among thousands of passengers. To reduce inconveniences during the repairs, the authorities have introduced free high-capacity bus services. These metrobuses operate along the closed line from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, striving to ensure passenger convenience. However, with the start of the academic year, the addition of thousands of students and schoolchildren to the working citizens makes it clear that the bus capacity is insufficient. Experts and city residents predict severe problems in the transport system during peak congestion. Since the above-ground metro line passes through densely populated and highly trafficked areas, its absence places a heavy load on the road network. The speed of buses depends on road conditions, which usually worsen during the autumn months. As a result, the residents of Tashkent will have to regularly prepare for traffic jams and overcrowded public transport. This situation demonstrates that modern standards of urban infrastructure management require not only technical work but also timely and accurate information provision to citizens. The circular above-ground metro line in Tashkent is named "30th Anniversary of Uzbekistan's Independence" and is the fourth line in the capital's metro system. Its construction began in 2017, and the first section was put into operation in August 2020.
