Portugal national team and Chelsea forward Joao Felix has reached a preliminary agreement to return to Benfica, reports renowned sports insider Nicolo Schira on his social media pages. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to the source, after terms were agreed with the player, the Lisbon club began negotiations with Chelsea. This will be a return to a familiar team for Felix, as he played for Benfica from 2015 to 2019.
He was later sold to Atletico Madrid for a record 127.5 million euros. However, he was unable to make an impact in the "mattress makers" squad and spent last season on loan at AC Milan, where he played 15 matches in Serie A and scored two goals.
Currently, negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, and the agreement could be finalized in the coming weeks. This transfer is expected to add extra strength to the team.
