The Paris Court of Appeal has imposed an obligation on the "PSG" football club to pay its former goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon a compensation of 250 thousand euros. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
This was reported by L’Équipe. The decision is related to tax adjustments conducted by the Italian tax authorities at the end of 2018.
The total additional tax amount exceeds 1.2 million euros, covering the period Buffon played for "Juventus" and "PSG". The Italian goalkeeper emphasized that based on the contract with the Paris club, "PSG" is obliged to pay compensation of up to 50 percent of the tax set by the Italian tax authorities for 2018, but not exceeding 250 thousand euros when social contributions are taken into account.
The court fully satisfied the player's claim, rejecting the club's appeal against the initial decision. However, Buffon's additional claim for 25 thousand euros for "offensive resistance" was not granted.
This decision became an important court case aimed at resolving financial issues between the player and the club.
