Syomin does not impose a limit on the number of legionnaires

Famous coach Yuri Syomin expressed his opinion on the tightening of restrictions on the number of legionnaires. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

It was previously reported that starting from the next season, a "10+5" or an initial stage "10+6" system may be implemented. This means that clubs in the Russian Premier League will only be able to include 10 legionnaires in their season applications and can use no more than five or six legionnaires on the field at the same time.

According to Syomin, restrictions in leagues have never helped improve the quality of football. He believes that the most important thing is to improve the quality of coaches' work and to focus on programs in children's and youth sports schools.

Moreover, only strong competition can develop strong players, while artificial restrictions yield no positive results. Currently, clubs in the Russian Premier League have the right to use eight legionnaires on the field at the same time.

For the season, teams can have 13 foreign players in their applications. This system should be aimed at enhancing competition rather than improving the quality of football.
