The forward of "Rostov," Yegor Golenkov, shared his thoughts on the defeat against "Dinamo" and the matches at the beginning of the season in an exclusive interview with the online publication "Evro-Futbol.Ru." This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
When asked about playing with former coach Valeriy Karpin, he emphasized that this situation was unusual for the "Rostov" team. However, he mentioned that they prepared seriously for the game, just like against other opponents, and tried to apply pressure.
He noted that "Dinamo's" style of play was different from that of "Rostov." Yegor revealed that he briefly greeted Karpin after the match but did not have a separate conversation.
The coach stated that the changes in management did not affect the team's main playing style, and the new coach, Alba, added unique elements to the team. He added that they entered the game today with two forwards.
At the end of the match, the team stayed in the locker room for quite a while, which was related to their upcoming game against "Spartak," recovery, and necessary treatment. While commenting on "Spartak's" defeat to "Baltika," he pointed out that this situation could be understood due to the red cards and dismissals during the game.
Now it is clear that "Spartak" will try to recover, which indicates that it will be an interesting game for "Rostov." Despite losing points at the beginning of the season, he mentioned that they showed a decent performance against strong opponents and will continue to strive forward.
