The head coach of Kazan's "Rubin" football team, Rashid Rahimov, commented on the reasons for his team's seventh place in the Russian Premier League last season. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the team achieved results above its capabilities. Rahimov stated that all the teams positioned higher in the table are strong and have significant financial resources.
It is very difficult to leave such teams behind, so it is necessary to assess the reality correctly. It should be noted that according to the results of the last season, only six teams – "Krasnodar," "Zenit," CSKA, "Spartak," Moscow's "Dinamo," and "Lokomotiv" – ranked above "Rubin."
In the first two rounds of the new season, "Rubin" defeated "Akhat" 2:0 and drew 2:2 with "Zenit" at home. "Rubin" will play its next official match against "Orenburg" on July 31 in the first round of the group stage of the Russian Cup.
This match will take place at the "Ak Bars Arena" stadium.
