“Akhat” team head coach Aleksandr Storojuk shared his thoughts with journalists after the match against “Zenit.” This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, the two quick goals at the beginning of the game disrupted the team’s plans. The coach emphasized that defensive errors were repeated again.
“Zenit” launched attacks mainly through long passes, and one of those situations ended in a goal. Storojuk mentioned that he had discussed such situations with the players in advance, but in some cases, they were unable to act correctly on the field.
According to him, “Zenit” did not create other dangerous situations, only 3-4 standard situations occurred. Nevertheless, the coach expressed satisfaction with the quality of the game and the team’s actions.
He pointed out that many attacks were organized, but the result was negative because they could not get the ball into the net. The coach noted the need to work on the team’s psychology, as players tend to become more active after conceding goals.
This is not the right approach; one should always play actively from the first minutes of the game. After conceding the second goal, some changes were made in the team composition.
According to the coach, the new player Zare has just joined the team and needs time to adapt. He has not yet fully connected with the team, and a translator was also found recently.
Nevertheless, Zare was able to fulfill the task assigned to him. The coach also commented on the team’s physical readiness.
In his opinion, players are increasing their efforts in every game, and the team is on the right track. Although the “Zenit” team made changes in their lineup for this match, “Akhat” did not fall behind the opponent.
However, there were some shortcomings in the first half, as this lineup played together for the first time. Therefore, there were issues regarding mutual understanding.
If there had been no defensive errors, a good result could have been achieved.
