A new record may be set in English football. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Newcastle striker Aleksandr Isak's transfer to Liverpool is expected to be one of the most expensive transfers in the country's history. The Swedish player wants to leave the team and has reached an agreement on personal terms with Liverpool.
However, there is currently no official agreement between the two clubs. According to journalist Kate Dauning, Newcastle is demanding £150 million (approximately €174 million) for Isak.
Nevertheless, the club is said to be willing to sell the 25-year-old striker for £135 million (€156.5 million). In the current summer transfer window, Liverpool has spent over €300 million on new players.
The club's squad has been bolstered by players such as Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkes, and Jeremie Frimpong under the leadership of Arne Slot. Previously, other Premier League giants had also shown interest in Aleksandr Isak.
At the moment, the player specifically wants to move to Liverpool and has made a firm decision in this regard. Therefore, negotiations may soon reach a positive conclusion.
