The Turkish football club Fenerbahce announced on its official website that negotiations for a contract with 31-year-old Portuguese defender Nelson Semedo have begun. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to club representatives, the player is expected to arrive in Istanbul to discuss the terms of the contract and undergo a medical examination. Previously, Semedo was also courted by the French club Marseille, but the parties could not reach an agreement.
Nelson Semedo became a free agent after his contract with Wolverhampton expired on July 1. In the 2024-2025 season, he played 37 matches for the English team Wolverhampton and provided five assists.
In Semedo's career, he has also played for Spain's Barcelona and Portugal's Benfica. Currently, Fenerbahce is continuing negotiations to sign a contract with Semedo.
The club expects high results from the player.
