Former famous football player Andrey Kanchelskis expressed his opinion about the financial capabilities of the "Spartak" club. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Recently, the club made the most expensive transfer in its history. The "Red-Whites" paid over 20 million euros for midfielder Jedson Fernandes.
With additional bonuses, this amount may increase further. According to Kanchelskis, making the most expensive transfer will not help "Spartak" win the Russian championship.
He stated that with this move, the club is only showing that it is at the level of "Zenit" in terms of financial capabilities. Kanchelskis also noted that "Spartak" is a famous and wealthy club, but this situation is not enough for the championship.
In the former player's opinion, "Zenit" is far ahead of "Spartak" in terms of transfer policy and efficiency. Therefore, "Spartak's" large expenses do not guarantee achieving the club's main goal for now.
Today, not only financial strength but also the right transfer policy and effective play are of great importance for the championship.
