Famous Uzbek coach Yuri Syomin answered the question of what the main problem in Russian football is. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
In his opinion, the root of this problem lies in the level of player training, that is, related to the educational process in schools and academies. According to Syomin, serious attention must first be paid to coaches, training programs in academies, and the educational process itself.
He also emphasized that talented football players are emerging in Russia, but in many cases, they are unable to fully realize their potential. Syomin noted another factor hindering the development of football as the exclusion of Russian clubs from international competitions.
He stated that this situation leads to a decrease in the number of attractive and important matches. For reference, in February 2022, FIFA and UEFA leaders banned Russian clubs and the national team from participating in international competitions.
As a result, Russian football is currently unable to participate on the international stage, which negatively affects the growth of athletes. Experts believe that these restrictions are hindering the further development of football.
