Famous football agent Vladimir Kuzmichev expressed his opinion on whether increasing restrictions on the number of foreign players would benefit the development of young footballers in Russia. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He stated that the problem does not lie in the restrictions. The main issue is a serious approach to training young players.
According to Kuzmichev, regardless of what the restrictions are, if this work is not done professionally and on a national scale, the situation will not change. The task of nurturing new players should be the responsibility of the entire country, not just a specific club or city.
Recently, the Russian Ministry of Sports proposed to reduce the number of foreign players. According to the proposal, the restriction would be in the form of "10+5", allowing for 10 foreign players in the club, of which 5 can play on the field at the same time.
Currently, the "13+8" system is in effect in the Russian Premier League. According to this system, a club can have 13 foreign players, and 8 of them have the right to enter the field.
Experts believe that merely increasing restrictions is not enough for the development of young players. The key is to establish a quality training and support system for the players.
In this regard, clear and effective measures must be taken on a national scale.
