The head coach of "Spartak," Dejan Stankovich, shared his thoughts after the match against "Akron." This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He first spoke about Jerson Fernandes' debut match. According to Stankovich, he is generally pleased with Fernandes' performance.
The coach mentioned that he understood from the beginning that Fernandes would not be able to move for a full 90 minutes, and he even knew that he could not play a full 45 minutes. They discussed this and made a decision.
Fernandes performed well in the first 15 minutes, but the team overall did not start the game well. Nevertheless, the coach emphasized that he is satisfied with the result and noted that Fernandes is likely to bring significant benefits in the future.
There was also a question about "Spartak" finishing the last two matches with a reduced squad. Stankovich acknowledged this situation and stated that the team has been receiving an increasing number of red cards.
In his opinion, some of the cards given to certain players were unfair, while in some situations, the players made mistakes themselves. He mentioned that this situation depends on the character of the players and that such situations are part of football.
The coach also addressed individual mistakes. He stated that he does not criticize the players and is in favor of protecting them.
He acknowledged that the team could perform better in certain situations, but he pointed out that there are experienced and skilled players in the squad who are capable of managing the game and making the right decisions in crucial moments. Stankovich mentioned that he has discussed the existing problems in the team with the club, stating that only one position needs strengthening and that this issue has been worked on for 10 months.
He believes that the team has a good composition and expressed hope that the results will improve in the future.
