Zelenskiy is increasing the number of Ukrainian soldiers in the Middle East

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced in a speech to the British Parliament on March 17 that currently 201 Ukrainian military specialists are operating in Middle Eastern countries, and another 34 are ready to be deployed. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Zelenskiy emphasized that these specialists are professional military personnel tasked with protecting against regular Shahed-type drone attacks carried out by Russia against Ukraine. According to him, these groups are active in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, and are also being sent to Kuwait.
Moreover, cooperation ties with other countries have already begun. Zelenskiy expressed that he does not want Iran to continue posing a threat in the region.
The president stressed that the decision to send experts was made based on requests from Ukraine's international partners, including the United States. Zelenskiy also noted that amid the conflict in the Middle East, allies must not forget Ukraine and warned about the dangers created by cooperation between the Russian and Iranian regimes.
In his view, the regimes in Russia and Iran are connected by hatred and cooperate in the arms sector. Ukraine, on the other hand, strives to demonstrate that regimes based on hatred will not prevail.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer promised that the war in Iran will not distract from the conflict in Ukraine. Following talks held in London, Zelenskiy and Starmer signed a declaration aimed at strengthening cooperation in security and defense.
This declaration sets goals for the countries to work actively in areas such as developing a joint defense industry and technology ecosystem, establishing production lines, conducting scientific research and innovations, integrating defense product supply chains, and strengthening industrial partnerships. As emphasized by the British government, this cooperation proves that Ukraine is not only a country defending its territory from aggression but also contributing to the security of international partners and strengthening Europe's overall defense.
