Former famous football player Andrey Kanchelskis expressed his opinion about Dejan Stankovich, the head coach of Moscow's "Spartak" team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Kanchelskis emphasized that currently, the issue of dismissing the Serbian specialist from the club is not urgent. He stated that if Stankovich needed to be relieved of his duties, that decision should have been made at the end of the last season.
According to Kanchelskis, even if Stankovich were to leave, there would not be significant changes in the team. Therefore, he should be given the opportunity to work.
Kanchelskis also pointed out that the "Spartak" team would not be able to achieve success this season even under experienced coaches. According to him, even if renowned specialists like Ranieri or Ferguson were to come, the "red-whites" would not be able to show results.
Therefore, it is advisable for Stankovich to continue his work for now. For reference, under Dejan Stankovich's leadership, "Spartak" accumulated four points in the first three matches of the Russian championship.
The team won against "Dinamo," lost to "Baltika," and drew with "Akron." In the next round, "Spartak" will face the championship leader "Lokomotiv."
It is worth noting that at the end of the last season, "Spartak" extended its contract with Dejan Stankovich until the middle of 2027.
