Russian coach Vyacheslav Chanov commented on the news that Matvey Safonov may leave the Paris club – PSG. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Earlier, during negotiations with Illya Zabarnyy, information circulated that the Paris club's management promised the defender that the Russian goalkeeper would leave the team. While expressing his thoughts on this matter, Chanov emphasized that he does not want to get involved in political issues.
He noted that Safonov has all the opportunities to continue his career in Europe. According to him, Safonov had a good performance last season, and his game cannot be considered unsuccessful.
Additionally, the specialist stated that Safonov's move to PSG was an important step for his development. For reference, goalkeeper Matvey Safonov joined the Paris club in the summer of 2024.
Last season, he played in 17 matches and kept his goal intact in 7 of them. These statistics confirm that Safonov is a high-level goalkeeper.
