Andrey Kanchelskis expressed his confusion regarding the decisions made by the management of the "Spartak" team. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
According to him, at the end of last season, the "red-whites" extended their contract with Dejan Stankovich. However, the team did not perform well in the spring and only secured fourth place in the Russian Premier League.
Kanchelskis stated that if a new coach is needed, they should have officially thanked Stankovich and said goodbye at the end of last season. Otherwise, the club will now be obliged to pay the full compensation according to the contract terms.
He does not consider this decision to be correct and emphasized that he does not understand the actions of the management. According to reports circulating in the media, "Spartak" has already begun searching for a new head coach.
Under Dejan Stankovich's leadership, the team has only collected four points in four matches played in the new season. In the next round, "Spartak" will play away against "Zenit" in the Russian championship.
The match will take place on Saturday, August 16.
