Evgeniy Kornyuxin, the former goalkeeper of Saint Petersburg's Zenit football club, expressed his opinion regarding the team's recent game results. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
He emphasized that head coach Sergey Semak is currently in a difficult situation. According to Kornyuxin, despite the players having millions in funding, they are not putting in enough effort on the field.
He mentioned that most of them are approaching their responsibilities with indifference, having already secured the money they need and showing no interest in anything else. Currently, Zenit is in eighth place in the Russian championship standings, having collected five points after four rounds.
In the last match, Zenit lost 0:1 to Akhmat Grozny. The Akhmat team was recently taken over by new head coach Stanislav Cherchesov.
In previous games, Zenit won 2:1 against Rostov, and also drew 2:2 with Rubin and 1:1 with CSKA Moscow. The team's results are currently not fully satisfying the fans.
According to experts, Zenit needs to make serious changes to strengthen their game and achieve better results.
