The goalkeeper of the Russian national team and PSG, Matvey Safonov, spoke about his return to Paris and an interesting discovery he made regarding the French language. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.
Like many Russians, he thought the word "jalousie" was borrowed from French. However, in reality, this word is not French.
According to Safonov, since childhood he was taught that the word "jalousie" was French, so when he came to Paris, he wanted to demonstrate his knowledge. But he was surprised to find out that the French themselves do not know the word "jalousie" in their language.
As the goalkeeper emphasized, in French the word "jalousie" means "jealousy." It is worth recalling that on September 10, the Russian national team, with Safonov in goal, defeated the Qatar national team 4:1 in a BetBoom friendly match.
