One of the bright stars of the Uzbekistan national team, Abbosbek Fayzullayev, is having a challenging season in the Russian Premier League. Since moving from the "Pakhtakor" club to the Moscow army team in 2023, the performance of our forward has significantly declined since the beginning of 2025. Abbosbek, who became a leader in the CSKA squad in previous seasons and played a crucial role in organizing his team's goal-scoring attacks, is now the focus of attention for Russian football experts.
We present the opinions of Russian specialists regarding the situation with Abbosbek Fayzullayev.
Aleksey Petrushin, former head coach of "Dinamo Moscow":
"It cannot be hidden that there is a decline in Fayzullayev's game. The reason is that he has to adapt to the new tactical scheme in the shape of a diamond that CSKA head coach Marko Nikolich is implementing. Although this famous 'Milan diamond' tactic is well-known to many, it is new for Abbos, and it is not easy for him to adapt quickly. Nevertheless, he is a very talented and attention-grabbing player.
Additionally, Abbosbek is participating in many national team games, which may be affecting his strength and energy. Despite being young, it is natural for him to feel fatigue. It is not only Fayzullayev; other CSKA players have also recently shown signs of fatigue. Ivan Oblyakov can be cited as an example."
Yevgeniy Aldonin, former CSKA player and specialist:
"Many are saying that Marko Nikolich's diamond scheme does not suit Abbosbek Fayzullayev. I do not agree with this opinion. Because the diamond is a very variable and adaptable tactic. It is natural for the team's tactical scheme to change during games.
I believe that Fayzullayev's current situation will serve as a push for his growth and development. Abbos is a player striving for goals. He has already shown his high level and needs to demonstrate himself again to regain the coach's trust. As a team leader, he must strengthen his position through his performance on the field."
Alexander Grishin, former CSKA player and analyst:
"If a player shows good results, immediately there are talks about offers from top clubs. However, we do not yet know how true the rumors about Abbosbek Fayzullayev are. For now, these are just rumors.
In fact, it would be worth discussing this issue after the transfer has taken place. Fayzullayev needs to demonstrate his previous bright performances again. His current situation does not bring him closer to moving to Europe; rather, he needs to regain confidence in the club."
We remind you that since joining CSKA in August 2023, Abbosbek Fayzullayev has participated in a total of 65 matches in the Russian championship and cup competitions, scoring 8 goals and providing 21 assists.
Additionally, the 21-year-old player has played 25 times for the Uzbekistan national team, scoring 8 goals against opponents. Currently, the Transfermarkt portal estimates his transfer value at 8 million euros. Abbosbek's contract with CSKA is valid until the summer of 2026
