Our representatives are once again on the podium at the World Championship in Peru
The next day of the World Championship in weightlifting for youth and juniors taking place in Peru was also successful for our country. Winners and medalists were determined in several weight categories. The most exciting part is that this time there are athletes from Uzbekistan among the medalists.
Two medals from Marjona Abdumutalova
In the women's -59 kg weight category, Marjona Abdumutalova demonstrated balanced movements on the platform and recorded good results.
She secured a bronze medal with a result of 102 kg in the clean and jerk event. Based on the results of the two lifts (snatch + clean and jerk), Marjona earned a silver medal with a total load of 190 kg. This result added another significant trophy to the Uzbekistan delegation's account.
Reliable performance from Xikmatillo Xaydarov
Xikmatillo Xaydarov, competing in the men's -81 kg weight category, also acted confidently on the platform. He lifted 154 kg in the snatch event and secured a bronze medal.
Members of the Uzbekistan national team have been regularly receiving awards for several days at the World Championship among youth and juniors. This is another confirmation of the experience and potential of our country in weightlifting.
