Uzbekistan U-23 team may participate in the tournament in China

The Chinese Football Association is planning to hold a four-team friendly tournament in Xi'an in March as part of preparations for the 2026 Asian Games, involving U-23 national teams. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information was shared by the ASEAN FOOTBALL page. According to the source, the Thailand national team has been invited to the competition, while the participation of the Vietnam U-23 team is currently tentative.
The list of the remaining teams has not yet been officially announced. The main goal of the tournament is to increase competition among young players and to form the squad ahead of the Asian Games.
There are also speculations that the Uzbekistan U-23 national team may participate in this tournament. In recent years, football cooperation between Uzbekistan and China has developed significantly.
Training camps, friendly matches, and experience exchanges held in the U-16, U-17, and U-19 categories are clear examples of this. Therefore, the inclusion of the team led by Ravshan Haydarov in the Xi'an tournament is not out of the question.
Such competitions provide a great opportunity for coaches. Here they can try out new playing styles, observe how players make decisions under pressure, and assess the team's character.
This process allows checking the team's readiness in real conditions before major tournaments. If the Uzbekistan U-23 national team participates in the tournament, it will be beneficial in several ways: our young players will adapt to the fast and physical style of Asian football, compete with competitive teams, and gain international experience.
In conclusion, the tournament to be held in Xi'an in March could become an important testing ground for our young players. For fans, it is a great opportunity to start the spring with football.
