Dragan Cheran: about the referee's mistakes, not scoring many goals, and leaving "Pakhtakor"

After the match between "Paxtakor" and "Nasaf" (6:3) in the third round of the Uzbekistan Cup Group B, guest striker Dragan Cheran shared his thoughts.

- What do you think about today's game?
- It was a good game. Many goals were scored. Unfortunately, we lost. We made many mistakes in defense. In the end, we conceded too many goals. Six goals. That's a lot. Yes, perhaps we didn't approach the cup with the seriousness it required. But there is the championship and the Super Cup ahead. Then there is the Elite Champions League. So this loss is certainly disappointing. In short, we will continue to move forward.

- You received a yellow card for protesting against the referee at the beginning of the second half. How justified was your serious protest?
- As usual, I just wanted to talk to the referee. We wanted to express our opinion, to exchange views. He was very controversial today, you could say. He made several clear mistakes in favor of "Paxtakor." This certainly had a slight impact, but... They are also human, they can make mistakes, so it's okay.

- We know you as Uzbekistan's long-time top scorer. However, your performance this year has not been good. What is the reason for this?
- This year's goal is different. My task is to help the young players and "Nasaf." I need to help not only personally but also as a team. We need to show once again that we can be champions and what we are capable of. We have a good team assembled.

- Are you upset that "Paxtakor" did not part ways with you properly?
- That is now history. Let's not dwell on it anymore.
