In 2025, more than 177 thousand people died in Uzbekistan

In 2025, the deaths of 177,104 citizens were recorded across Uzbekistan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Statistics Agency provided this information. This figure is 2,700 higher compared to 2024.
Of those who died, 55.1% were men (97.5 thousand), and 44.9% were women (81.4 thousand). Deaths among urban residents accounted for 54.1%, while rural residents accounted for 45.9%.
According to statistical analyses, the main cause of death remains cardiovascular diseases, that is, diseases of the circulatory system. In 2025, more than 104 thousand citizens died from this cause.
Additionally, neoplasms, respiratory diseases, and other types of illnesses also ranked high among causes of death. By region, the highest death rates were recorded in Samarkand region (19,670 people), Fergana region (18,695 people), and Tashkent region (16,984 people).
In Tashkent city, 16,926 citizens died. The lowest figures were recorded in Sirdaryo region (4,624 people) and Navoi region (4,781 people).
At the same time, the average life expectancy in the country continues to increase. In 1991, this figure was 66.4 years, and by 2024 it reached 75.1 years.
It is planned to raise the average life expectancy to 78 years by 2030. In conclusion, although the numbers are heavy, the measures are clear: prevention, timely medical check-ups, and promoting a healthy lifestyle are of great importance for the future.
