Masalitin proposed to finance Russian clubs

Former CSKA striker Valeriy Masalitin commented on the situation regarding the suspension of the "Khimki" team and put forward a proposal aimed at stabilizing the financial situation of Russian football clubs. This was reported by Euro-football.ru.

He suggests a more systematic intervention by the state in the activities of the Russian Premier League and the National Football League. According to Masalitin, without a clear and orderly distribution system for budget funds, Russian football will continue to face the loss of many clubs in the future. He proposes the establishment of a single financial fund with the participation of state companies.

Through this, all teams will operate on equal terms. "All our teams are financed to some extent by state funds. A fund composed of state companies should be created, as seen in China.

Then there will be no incidents like those of 'Khimki', 'Tambov', 'Amkar'. If the state intervenes, the very high salaries paid to players will stop, and at least salaries will be paid on time," says Masalitin. This proposal comes in the wake of news that the "Khimki" team officially suspended its activities on June 18.

The club did not obtain a license to participate in the Russian Premier League, and the appeal was rejected. The team finished the 2024/25 season in 12th place but fell out of the top league.
